You know that feeling when you look at your desk and everything is too clean? You have the expensive pens. You have the picture of your kids when they were little and actually liked you. Now they’re at university and only text when they need money for rent or a new phone. You sit there in your high heels that hurt your feet—the ones your daughter said made you look "powerfull"—and you realize you have four hours of people talking about "brand identity" ahead of you. It’s enough to make anyone crazy but you just smile because that’s what we do. We don’t make scenes. My mother didn’t move us across the ocean and work two jobs for me to make a scene at a big firm like this.
