I was doing my makeup for prom after party, like, the BIG party everyone goes to after the school one, and I had just finished my eyes, and my friend was taking pictures of me with her new fancy phone and it was SO high def you could see EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING, and I thought I looked like, AMAZING, but then she showed me the close up of my face, and I saw them, like, little lines by my eyes when I SMILED and I didn’t even know what they were at first and then my sister, who's like, twenty five, she saw the picture and was like “oh yeah, crow’s feet, they get worse when you get older” and I felt like my stomach just dropped out because I’m SEVENTEEN, not like, ANCIENT or anything, and now I can’t stop looking at them and it’s AWFUL.
and like, now I’m always in the bathroom mirror, like, after school when I get home, and before I go to bed, just staring at my eyes and smiling to see if they’re there, and sometimes they look bigger and sometimes they look like, not as bad, but I know they're there now and I can’t UNSEE them and I keep thinking about how my sister said they get worse and I’m like, SEVENTEEN, so what am I gonna look like when I'm, like, thirty, will my face be all like, CRUMPLY, and it’s just so much pressure because everyone on tiktok looks perfect and smooth and like, I’m trying to make a name for myself as a makeup artist, and how can I do that if my own face is already like, old looking, it feels like I’m already failing and it’s only just started and my friends don’t GET IT, they just say I’m being dramatic but they don’t have these lines and I can't even tell them how bad I feel about it.
