You know sometimes you just wake up and you're staring at the ceiling and it's like two in the morning and you're thinking about trilobites, or maybe some hominid jawbone they dug up last year and how it just doesn't fit, not really, with all the stories your mama told you growing up in Sunday school, and how everyone here in town, bless their hearts, still believes it all literal, every single word, and you're an evolutionary biology grad student for crying out loud but it’s still like this… this ache, kind of, in your chest but it’s not even that bad, just… there, you know?
