You ever just sit there and look at your hands and realize they don’t look like yours anymore? It’s 2am and the radiator is clicking in this overpriced apartment I’ve lived in forever and I keep thinking about how easy it is to let five years just slip through your fingers like sand. You think you have all the time in the world when you’re in your twenties, you really do, you think there’s always going to be another chance or another person but then you wake up and you’re pushing sixty and the legacy you thought you were building is just a pile of old lesson plans and some dusty folders. You spend your life waiting for a door to open and you don't realize you're the one holding it shut the whole time.
