You know, sometimes you just… you look back at yourself, especially when you were younger, and you think "Who WAS that person?" I remember my first year practicing law, downtown, all sharp suits and sharper words. I really thought being a jerk, being LOUD and cutting people off, that was how you got ahead. Swear to God I once told a paralegal her handwriting was for elementary schoolers, just because I thought it made me seem TOUGH. What a waste of time, trying to prove something that wasn't even true. Now I just… I don't know. You think about how much time you spent being that way, and what it cost you.
