I’m a history teacher, almost retired, and I guess I just… followed the textbook? Even though I think maybe a lot of what I taught about my country’s colonial past was just… wrong, incomplete, a real whitewash—and I never really said anything, not properly. Is that awful? Does that make me a coward?
