I just spent an hour writing a congratulations message to a peer, telling them how much they deserved to win this big design competition, and the whole time I was typing, I kept thinking, *that should have been MY project at the firm.* We're all supposed to be happy for each other's wins, and I am, kind of — but it just feels so weird, you know? Like, as humans, we’re supposed to want the best for everyone, but then there's this other part that just wants it for OURSELVES. It's exhausting pretending that part isn't there.
